PetPals
Pet Assistance in the Lives of Seniors (PALS) helps keep Wichita Meals on Wheels recipients and their beloved companions nurtured and nourished while living in their own homes.
Pet Support for Meals on Wheels
For homebound, isolated seniors, a hot meal delivered by a caring volunteer and the love of their devoted pet may be their only connections. But for too many seniors, keeping a pet means heartbreaking choices. Nationally, 1 in 5 Meals on Wheels clients report going without food themselves to feed their pets, and half can’t access veterinary care.
In partnership with Wichita Animal Action League (WAAL), Senior Services provides monthly pet food deliveries and assistance with other pet care needs for Meals on Wheels clients (recipients). Our shared goal is to keep people and pets together in their own homes.

From Our Partner
"...We are very grateful for Senior Services and are honored to work with them side-by-side as we serve the most vulnerable in our community..."
“Our partnership with Senior Services of Wichita through the Pet Pals project has allowed us to provide a much needed service in our community. It allows our volunteers to form long-term partnerships with community members and to recognize when a senior might need assistance with other pet services. We are very grateful for Senior Services and are honored to work with them side-by-side as we serve the most vulnerable in our community.”
-Christy Fischer, Executive Director of WAAL (Wichita Animal Action League)
